How We Differ
Many groups read the same book. What separates this ministry is not the book but what is done with it, and the things it declines to do.
We are Israelites
We do not call ourselves Hebrew Israelites, Black or African Hebrew Israelites, or any variation of those names. We are Israelites. The ministry respects those who are not true Israelites but who read our Holy Bible while engaging in another cultural practice, usually under another name, which may even resemble ours. We share no affiliation or partnership with any organisation bearing the name Israel or Israelite, and remain uniquely separate.
The name we use for God
We do not refer to our God as Yahweh, Yah, Yahuwah, Yahawashi, Elohim or El. We follow the instruction given to our forefather Moses in Exodus 3:15, and call Him by the name He gave our fathers to call Him by: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. The obsession with pronunciation that marks so much of the awakening is not ours. Obedience is what is required.
The book we use
The Authorized King James Version of 1611 is our official book of learning and teaching, without exception. We reject Rabbinic tradition as an authority over it.
The language question
We do not speak modern Israeli Hebrew, which belongs to the Israelis and was constructed within living memory. Hebrew in scripture names a people, not a language.
Practice
We do not wear hanging strings or what is called tassels, and our men do not wear earrings. We keep the Sabbath, the new moons and the feasts by the calendar of the God of Israel rather than by the Roman calendar, and we do not keep the invented holidays of the nations.
Who is welcome
Our doors are open to all races, colours and creeds who sincerely seek the truth. The mandate of the ministry is to teach all nations, and we allow all nations into our congregation after 1 Kings 8:41–43. There is no hatred and no violence in this teaching. Our focus is the laws, statutes and commandments, not territory.
