Historical Background of the Calendar
The calendar of the God of Israel has run unbroken while empires changed their own reckoning around it.
The Israelite calendar is not a reconstruction. It is a continuation. Through captivity, dispersion and the transatlantic slave trade, the cycle by which the appointed times are reckoned continued undisturbed, whatever calendar the nations imposed above it.
Within this ministry
The first Passover was kept in April 1986. The first calendar was assembled by hand, the new moons cut and pasted from a bank’s printed calendar. Under Elder Antonio Castrilli, the first priest of the ministry to be appointed, baptised and anointed, that beginning developed over the years into a continuing work of research and publication. Elder Castrilli remains responsible for the ministry’s calendar.
The Feast of Dedication and Purim were formally established in the ministry’s observance in 1997. The true Sabbath day was confirmed in 2009.
